We had lots of problems with that on Twine :(
Ocytocin (the attachment hormone) gets in the way when people feel that they "own" their twine (or their map). I agree that private maps are owned and that private maps can be made public by their creator, but for all other maps, I believe the creator's rights should be drastically limited.
